Description

BCAF 2017 WORKSHOP
Slow Comedy
Saturday, September 9 from 1-3pm at ImprovBoston

$65 per person

Capacity: 16 people
Prerequisites: One level 1 improv class at any notable improv institution.

Workshop description:

Slow comedy doesn't mean boring or dull. It's the art of keeping your audience interested and engaged over a longer period of time while you and your partner discover a world unfolding around you.

This workshop isn't a sprint, it's a long distance run. We'll work on listening, maintaining a single point of view and delving into the minutiae of character in two and three person scenes. Let's ground into the scene and make each moment last.

Instructor Bios:

Megan is the Artistic Director of the Magnet Theater, a writer, performer, teacher and native New Yorker. She has been studying improvisation for over a decade, with Armando Diaz, Kevin Dorff, Christina Gausas, Dave Pasquesi, TJ Jagodowski, Dave Razowsky and many talented others. Megan has performed with Second City aboard the NCL Gem and has taught improvisation at C.W. Post University, Fairfield University, and festivals around the country, Canada and Europe, as well as companies and organizations. She also does a lot of yoga.
